Trip Tools for WP Travel
Itinerary fields, Elementor widgets and safe bulk editing for tour operators on WP Travel.
A WordPress plugin that adds what WP Travel does not have: a trip schema you can read and write over the REST API, an itinerary model with legs, route stops, month-by-month suitability, a packing checklist and field notes, Elementor widgets to show each part, and draft state for destinations and activities. It is published by Nyuchi Web Services as Nyuchi Travel Addons.
Version 1.12.0, released 26 October 2026. Licence: GPL v2 or later.
What it does
Features
Trip data over the REST API
WP Travel trip fields and the day-by-day itinerary become readable and writable through the standard WordPress REST endpoints, with the right sanitising for plain text and HTML.
An itinerary model WP Travel does not have
Legs, route stops, month-by-month suitability, traveller choices, a checklist and field notes, editable on the trip screen without a REST client.
Elementor widgets for every section
Hero, legs, route, seasonality, options, checklist, notes, gallery, trip card, destination grid, activity cards and experience strip, plus an importable single-trip template.
Draft state for destinations and activities
A term can exist before it is public. Draft terms stay editable in wp-admin, but visitors and search engines get a 404 and they drop out of menus and filters.
Destination and activity detail
Country, gateway airport, currency and best months for destinations; duration, difficulty and minimum age for activities.
Classification diagnostics
Reports flat hierarchies, empty terms, terms that do not divide your trips, and the same idea filed under two taxonomies.
Abilities for AI tools, with a dry run first
Trips, pricing, dates and taxonomies are exposed through the WordPress Abilities API. Imports and itinerary updates are dry runs unless you say otherwise, and a trip edited since it was exported is refused unless forced.
Bulk edit in a spreadsheet
Export trips, destinations and activities as JSON or CSV, edit them, and import them back. Imports never change a slug, status, pricing or dates.
Lighter pages, when you want it
An optional module keeps the WP Travel booking widget, Google Maps and WP Travel Pro scripts off pages that cannot use them. It is off until you switch it on.
Before you install: This plugin is for WP Travel. It is not for WP Travel Engine, which is a different plugin with a different data schema. If your trips live in a post type called trip and their fields begin wte_, you are running WP Travel Engine and this plugin will do nothing useful. It is not connected to, endorsed by or affiliated with WEN Solutions or WP Travel.

Good to know
Known limitations
- Beta. It runs in production on one tour operator's site; expect changes between releases.
- Version 1.10.0 changed update-itinerary to a dry run by default. Anything that relied on it writing must now pass dry_run false.
- Sites on 1.11.0 or earlier need one manual update from wp-admin. From 1.12.0 on, new releases arrive as an ordinary update notice and update in the background.

Recent releases
